Registration for the 2026–2027 school year is now open for Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten students in Rockingham County Public Schools. Families can register beginning February 23 through March 6, 2026.
Who Is Eligible?
Kindergarten: Children who will turn 5 on or before September 30, 2026, and reside in Rockingham County are eligible to enroll in Kindergarten.
Pre-Kindergarten: Children who will turn 4 on or before September 30, 2026, and reside in Rockingham County may apply for the PreK program. Families should apply through their zoned elementary school, where staff will schedule applications, parent interviews, and student screenings.
Please note: PreK acceptance requires proof of income as a mandatory component, in accordance with Virginia Preschool Initiative guidelines.

What to Bring
All families, both Kindergarten and PreK, should bring the following documents to their registration appointment:
Birth certificate
Proof of residency (911 address)
Physical exam form and complete immunization record (required before school begins)
PreK families must also bring:
Proof of income (mandatory for acceptance)
